Two trekkers from Rayil and Sarbal village of Gund in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district have completed the Kashmir Great Lakes trek in 15 hours 3 minutes. It takes time for the trekkers to complete this trek in seven days.
Javed Ali Khan and Aijaz Raina who act as a guide have set one of the records by becoming the best trekkers from the Ganderbal district and setting an example for the other trekkers.
The Kashmir Great Lakes trek is a commercial trek organised by many prominent companies in India, which include Cliffhangers India, India Hikes.
This trek usually takes between 7 to 8 days to complete.
A trekker Ajaz Raina said that they started their Journey from Sonamarg via Shutkadi to Vishansar. The Sky marathon trek began on 30 August and they reached the Naranag Kangan on Same day at around 7:38 PM in which we take only 15 hours 3 minutes.
Their trek has been recognised and authenticated by Kashmir Great Lakes as well as registered “Cliffhangers India” as it’s the first ever marathon on a biggest trek of Kashmir to achieve the feat in such a short time, touching 12,129 metres above sea level.
It was flagged off by Mohammed Aarif founder “Cliffhangers India” and both boys were received by Mohammed Aarif and Nazir Raina at Naranag Kangan.
Talking to Rising Kashmir Owner “Cliffhangers India” Mohammad Aarif said I am very excited that both Youth’s have completed this trekking in record time.
It was first ever SKY marathon on a biggest trek of Kashmir, he said.
Arif said that both youths were working as a trekking guides and we gave them the task to complete this trek in record time and highlight the name of our “Cliffhangers India” and Kashmir great lakes by completing it.
“Cliffhangers India” has always been at the forefront in bringing in new practices into trekking.
Krishnasar, Gangabal, Satsar and Gadsar lake can be undertaken by experienced trekkers.This trek is known as Kashmir Great Lakes Trek, he told Rising Kashmir.
Meanwhile “Vishansar” which is located in the foothills of mountains and is about 30 Km away from tourist resort Sonamarg.
