Jammu and Kashmir Sqay Association (JKSA) Thursday conducted selection trials for boys and girls in sub junior, junior and senior categories for upcoming North-zone Sqay championship scheduled to be held at Sonipat Haryana from September 2- 4 this year.

Chairman Technical Committee Sqay Federation of India Mir Nazir told Rising Kashmir,  the selection trails were held at Indoor Stadium Polo ground Srinagar in which around 200 including boys and girls from different districts across J&K participated.

“The selection committee of the association selected the players for upcoming North-zone Sqay championship scheduled to be held at Sonipat Haryana,” he said. 

He informed the said trails were held under supervision of the observer from Jammu and Kashmir sports Council, who monitored the free and fair selection process of the players.

He added that the selected players have to go through screening by J& Sports council on August 27 (Sturday) at  Indoor Stadium Polo-ground Srinagar.

Secretary JKSA, Shugufta Akhtar , on the occasion congratulated the selection committee for making fair selection of the team and extended gratitude to sports council for providing fecilities and deputing observers for the selection process of the Jammu And Kashmir Sqay team.

“We are hopeful that team will show remarkable performance during the championship,” she said.
